Critical Illness insurance is designed to help employees offset the financial effects of a catastrophic illness with a lump sum benefit if an insured is diagnosed with a covered critical illness. 


The Critical Illness benefit is based on

the amount of coverage in effect on the date of diagnosis of a critical illness or the date treatment is received according to the terms and provisions of the policy.

Accident insurance is a supplemental policy that covers accident-related expenses, including nonmedical ones. This coverage can be very useful for people who are prone to accidents and injuries, such as athletes, and people with high-deductible health plans. 


Accident insurance covers accidents that occur off the job and includes a range of incidents, from common injuries to more serious events. 


Wellness Benefit and Sickness Hospital Confinement Benefit are part of the package as well.

Group Hospital Insurance can help you pay for costs of a covered hospital visit when you are admitted to the hospital for a covered accident, illness, or childbirth. 


The money is payable directly to you - not to a hospital or care provider and can help you pay for out-of-pocket expenses your medical plan may not cover, such as co-insurance, co-pays and deductibles.

Group Term Life Insurance

Unum Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

HM. Clause provides a basic life insurance policy for eligible employees with a benefit amount of 1.5 x covered annual earnings up to $350,000  (premiums 100% company-paid). If your death is a result of an accident, under the AD&D provision, there is an additional benefit equal to your basic life benefit.


It is important to keep your beneficiary information current, especially following life changes such as marital status or birth/adoption of a child. DayForce, our online benefits tracking system, houses all information regarding your plan enrollment and coverage(s), including beneficiary information.





Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability Income Protection

Long Term Disability insurance (LTD) may be the most important benefit offered at HM Clause. It pays an income to you should you remain disabled for a period extending beyond 180 calendar days*.


The LTD benefit is equal to 60% of your annual earnings, not to exceed $5,000 per month; and payments will last for as long as you are disabled or until you reach your Social Security Normal Retirement Age, whichever is sooner.


If you are in California, LTD kicks in if you remain disabled for a period extending beyond 365 calendar days*. The LTD benefit is equal to 60% of your annual earnings, not to exceed $5,000 per month. The benefit maximum period is lasts until you reach age 65 or until you reach your Social Security Normal Retirement Age.


Short Term Disability

Short Term Disability Income Protection

After 7 calendar days of certified illness or disability due to injury, the Short Term Disability Plan (STD) will start paying you a benefit equal to 60% of your earnings, not to exceed $1,500 per week. This benefit will continue to a maximum of 13 weeks; at which time, if you remain unable to return to work, our Long Term Disability Plan (LTD) will begin. Enrollment is automatic for employees in all states except CA, HI, NJ, NY, and RI. Employees in these states have access to Short-Term Disability through another program, with benefits carrying form state to state.

Additional Life Insurance

Supplement your life insurance protection

Voluntary supplemental life and AD&D insurance is available to you and your family at competitive group rates. Please be aware that 100% of the premiums are paid by you through convenient payroll deductions each pay period.


When you are first eligible to participate in this plan (new hire or conversion from Seasonal to Full Time), you are in what is called your “initial enrollment period”. This is a significant time when you are extended the opportunity to enroll in up to $200,000 of coverage and $25,000 for spouse under a “guarantee issue” provision, meaning no questions or medical underwriting will be required. Enrollments after this initial period will require a health application and/or physical examination.
